"Portrait of a City: Layers of Time" esplora l'accumulo di tempo negli spazi urbani quotidiani. Lee dissolve la struttura netta della città sovrapponendo più scene e sfocando elementi visivi ripetitivi, ricostruendo uno spazio che ricorda la memoria inconscia della città. “Portrait of a City: Layers of Time” explores the accumulation of time within everyday urban spaces. Lee dissolves the clear structure of the city by layering multiple scenes and blurring repetitive visual elements, reconstructing a space that resembles the unconscious memory of the city. Buildings overlap and borrow each other’s forms, while people walking through the streets gradually merge into the surrounding landscape.

Youngju Lee is a photographer who began her practice as a way to explore the world and record it through her own visual language. Her work initially focused on capturing sensory moments, and has gradually developed into a more conceptual exploration of urban space. Through layered images of the city, she visualizes the accumulation of time and the presence of individuals within contemporary urban life. Lee was selected as an Outstanding Photographer by Monthly Photography in 2023 and completed the professional program at GIL Fine Art. Since debuting at the Galleries Art Fair in 2024, she has participated in the Arles Photo Festival, Photo Days in Paris, and Photo Basel.

Youngju Lee è una fotografa che ha iniziato la sua attività come un modo per esplorare il mondo e registrarlo attraverso il proprio linguaggio visivo. Il suo lavoro si è inizialmente concentrato sulla cattura di momenti sensoriali, per poi evolversi gradualmente in un'esplorazione più concettuale dello spazio urbano.
