Thomas Hoepker (*1936 a Monaco, † 10 luglio 2024 a Santiago del Cile) ha iniziato a fotografare all'età di 14 anni e, mentre studiava, ha vinto due premi Photokina. Ha lavorato come fotografo freelance per riviste a partire dal 1959 ed è diventato il primo fotografo accreditato per Stern nel 1974. Nel 1989 è stato il primo tedesco a unirsi a Magnum Photos, servendo successivamente come presidente. Rinomato per il suo stile del "subtle image", il suo lavoro è stato esposto a livello globale, con famosi ritratti di Muhammad Ali. Hoepker è considerato uno dei più influenti foto-giornalisti tedeschi della fine del XX secolo.

Thomas Hoepker (*1936 in Munich, † July 10, 2024, in Santiago de Chile) began photography at 14 and, while studying, won two Photokina awards. He worked as a freelance photographer for magazines starting in 1959 and became the first accredited photographer for Stern in 1974. In 1989, he was the first German to join Magnum Photos, later serving as president. Renowned for his "subtle image" style, his work has been showcased globally, with famous portraits of Muhammad Ali. Hoepker is considered one of the most influential German photojournalists of the late 20th century.
