Riccardo Aichner compra la sua prima macchina fotografica nel 1981. Nel 1984 è stato il fotografo italiano nella spedizione italo-americana che ha disceso per la prima volta le rapide del fiume Alas, nella selvaggia Sumatra del Nord ed è stata supportata sia dalla National Geographic Society che da Mediaset. Nel 1985 la casa editrice italiana Fabbri Editori ha pubblicato il suo libro di foto: “Sumatra: l’avventura sulle acque che corrono”. Nel 1988-89 ha documentato i lavori del progetto di cooperazione e sviluppo italiano nel Tana-Beles-Etiopia. Di formazione prima classica e poi tecnica, la sua ricerca fotografica è scaturita dalla passione per la “Bellezza”.

Riccardo Aichner bought his first camera in 1981. In 1984 he was the Italian photographer on the Italian-American expedition that first descended the rapids of the Alas River in wild North Sumatra and was supported by both the National Geographic Society and Mediaset. In 1985 the Italian publishing house Fabbri Editori published his photo book, "Sumatra: the adventure on the running waters. " In 1988-89 he documented the work of the Italian cooperation and development project in the Tana-Beles-Ethiopian. Trained first in classical and technical education, his photographic research "Beauty".
