La serie on-going interroga il rapporto tra il paesaggio sardo e gli elementi primari che ne definiscono l’identità: l’acqua e la pietra. Avviata nella primavera del 2025 durante una residenza sul territorio, la ricerca di Maria Elisa Ferraris esplora la dimensione arcaica e sacra di questi elementi, osservandone la persistenza e le trasformazioni nel presente. L’indagine intreccia paesaggio, memoria e gesto, rivelando un dialogo tra materia e spiritualità, tra la continuità della tradizione e le forme contemporanee della percezione.

This ongoing series questions the relationship between the Sardinian landscape and the primary elements that define its identity: water and stone. Begun in the spring of 2025 during a residency in the area, Maria Elisa Ferraris' research explores the archaic and sacred dimensions of these elements, observing their persistence and transformations in the present. The investigation intertwines landscape, memory and gesture, revealing a dialogue between matter and spirituality, between the continuity of tradition and contemporary forms of perception.

Maria Elisa Ferraris (Torino, 1995) è un'artista e fotografa italiana. La sua ricerca nasce dal suo interesse per l'elemento umano e il paesaggio, esplorando il confine tra documentazione ed evocazione personale. Ha conseguito il diploma in Fotografia presso IED Torino nel 2017 e dal 2020 è membro del collettivo CESURA. Ha esposto in Italia, Germania e Spagna. Il suo lavoro è stato pubblicato su Artribune e Zero.eu. Nel novembre 2024 ha pubblicato il suo primo libro fotografico, Aqua, con CESURA PUBLISH.


Maria Elisa Ferraris (Turin, 1995) is an Italian artist and photographer. Her research stems from her interest in the human element and the landscape, exploring the boundary between documentation and personal evocation. She graduated in Photography from IED Turin in 2017 and has been a member of the CESURA collective since 2020. She has exhibited in Italy, Germany, and Spain. Her work has been published in Artribune and Zero.eu. In November 2024 she published her first photobook, Aqua, with CESURA PUBLISH.
