Le polleras boliviane, gonne tradizionali associate alle donne indigene degli altipiani, sono state per decenni simbolo identitario ma anche oggetto di discriminazione. Una nuova generazione di skater a Cochabamba le indossa come emblema di resistenza, nel 2019 Dani Santiváñez ha fondato ImillaSkate, recuperando le gonne di zie e nonne come gesto di appartenenza. “Imilla” significa giovane ragazza in Aymara e Quechua. Indossate solo per andare in skate, le polleras diventano messaggio di inclusione e accettazione della diversità.

Bolivian polleras, traditional skirts associated with Indigenous women of the highlands, have long been both a symbol of identity and an object of discrimination. A new generation of skaters in Cochabamba now wears them as an emblem of resistance. In 2019, Dani Santiváñez founded ImillaSkate, reclaiming skirts from aunts and grandmothers as a gesture of belonging. “Imilla” means young girl in Aymara and Quechua. Worn only while skateboarding, polleras become a message of inclusion and acceptance of diversity.

Luisa Dörr è una fotografa brasiliana il cui lavoro si concentra sul paesaggio umano femminile. Attraverso il ritratto, costruisce una narrazione intima e al tempo stesso cultirale, indagando identità, appartenenza. Le sue immagini sono state pubblicate su TIME, National Geographic e The New York Times e esposte in Brasile, Stati Uniti ed Europa. Selezionata per LensCulture Emerging Talent (2015), ha vinto POYi Documentary Project of the Year (2018) e il 3° premio al World Press Photo (2019). Vive e lavora a Bahia.

Luisa Dörr is a Brazilian photographer whose work focuses on the female human landscape. Through portraiture, she builds an intimate yet cultural narrative, exploring identity and belonging. Her images have been published in TIME, National Geographic and The New York Times, and exhibited in Brazil, the United States and Europe. Selected for LensCulture Emerging Talent (2015), she won POYi Documentary Project of the Year (2018) and received 3rd prize at the World Press Photo Contest (2019). She lives and works in Bahia.
