La fotografia di solito aggiunge informazioni per descrivere il mondo. In "Oltre il visibile", inizio rimuovendole. Ritagliando il familiare fotogramma fotografico in un formato ampio centrato sull'immagine, le informazioni visive che normalmente guidano l'interpretazione vengono intenzionalmente ridotte. Ciò che scompare non è una perdita, ma un'apertura da cui possono emergere tensioni ed emozioni trascurate. Attraverso questo processo, la fotografia si allontana dalla descrizione e diventa invece uno spazio per esplorare il modo in cui percepiamo ciò che si trova oltre la superficie visibile di un'immagine.

Photography usually adds information to describe the world. In Beyond the Visible, I begin by removing it. By cropping the familiar photographic frame into a wide format centered within the image, visual information that normally guides interpretation is intentionally reduced. What disappears is not a loss but an opening where overlooked tensions and emotions can emerge. Through this process, the photograph moves away from description and instead becomes a space to explore how we perceive what lies beyond the visible surface of an image.

Kyungtaek Lee is a Korean photographer whose work explores the aesthetics of perception through images encountered during travel. Rather than focusing on narrative description, he observes moments where chance, atmosphere, and unexpected compositions intersect. His photographs reveal subtle emotional undercurrents hidden within ordinary scenes, inviting viewers to reconsider what lies beyond the visible surface of an image. His works are often printed on traditional Korean Hanji and reworked through layering and surface intervention.
