Nella serie “Summer Fairies”, Kazuaki Koseki indaga il rapporto tra l'ecologia e l'ambiente naturale del "Himebotaru" ( lucciola principessa ) una piccola specie di lucciola giapponese.
Attraverso la luce fugace delle lucciole giapponesi nelle foreste estive di Yamagata, questa serie esplora la risonanza percettiva tra natura ed esseri umani. Rivela i ritmi della vita, la dimensione etica del sentire e il profondo stupore e la fragilità insiti nel nostro ambiente. In the series “Summer Fairies,” Kazuaki Koseki explores the relationship between ecology and the natural environment of the “Himebotaru” (princess firefly), a small species of Japanese firefly.

Nato nel 1977 nella prefettura di Yamagata, in Giappone.
Koseki è cresciuto in uno studio fotografico a conduzione familiare e fin da bambino si è dedicato alla fotografia. Oggi porta avanti l'attività di famiglia mentre persegue il proprio lavoro creativo, concentrandosi sui paesaggi naturali del Tohoku. Avventurandosi tra montagne, foreste e fiumi, affina i propri sensi attraverso la fotografia, esplorando il rapporto filosofico tra l'uomo e la natura. La sua opera, che include l'acclamata serie “Hotarubi -Summer Fairies-”, è dedicata a catturare l'essenza di Yamagata e della più ampia regione del Tohoku.

Born in 1977, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
Koseki grew up in a family-run photography studio and has been immersed in photography since childhood. He now continues the family business while pursuing his own creative work, focusing on the natural landscapes of Tohoku.Venturing into mountains, forests, and rivers, he hones his senses through photography, exploring the philosophical relationship between humans and nature. His body of work, including the acclaimed series "Hotarubi -Summer Fairies-", is dedicated to capturing the essence of Yamagata and the wider Tohoku region.
