The Amazonas series by Araquém Alcântara offers a contemplative vision of the Amazon as a living, complex ecosystem. Concepisce la fotografia come atto etico e poetico, rivelando la bellezza e la biodiversità del Brasile attraverso composizioni equilibrate e luce naturale. Il progetto Terra Brasil restituisce l’immagine di un Paese complesso e stratificato, in equilibrio tra preservazione e trasformazione.

Araquém Alcântara is a central figure in Brazilian environmental photography. For over three decades, he has developed a rigorous body of work exploring the relationship between landscape, culture, and national identity. Conceiving photography as an ethical and poetic act, he reveals the beauty and biodiversity of Brazil through balanced, natural-light compositions. His long-term project Terra Brasil portrays the country as a complex, layered territory, suspended between preservation and transformation.
