Il progetto s’inserisce nella nota serie di Antonio Barbieri dedicata alle Chimere. Esse rappresentano il cuore della sua poetica dell’invisibile basata sull’elaborazione algoritmica in forma artistica dei dati umani e naturali dell’infinitamente piccolo. L’invisibile naturale é captato
(con apparecchiature che Barbieri stesso si è costruito), registrato e trasformato mediante algoritmi da lui stesso elaborati, da elemento scientifico in forma creativa incantatrice. La Chimera raccontata nelle fotografie è "Auryn", una scultura eseguita da Barbieri nel 2025 dalla forma molto articolata, quasi barocca, stampata in 3D in 45 elementi tutti dipinti a mano.

The project is part of Antonio Barbieri's well-known series dedicated to chimeras. They represent the heart of his poetics of the invisible based on the algorithmic processing in artistic form of human and natural data of the infinitely small. The invisible natural is captured
(with equipment that Barbieri built himsel), recorded and transformed (through algorithms he himself developed), from a scientific element into an enchanting creative form. The Chimera depicted in the photographs is "Auryn," a sculpture created by Barbieri in 2025 with a highly articulated, almost baroque shape.

Il lavoro di Antonio Barbieri (Rho, 1985) si contraddistingue per una fusione tra tecnologia e tecniche artistiche legate alla tradizione.
La poetica di Barbieri si pone a crocevia tra figurazione e astrazione, cercando soluzioni e nuovi approcci a problemi formali senza tempo. Muovendosi tra diversi campi, l’artista arricchisce la propria ricerca utilizzando un approccio alla forma sempre diverso. Grazie all’utilizzo di sensori autocostruiti capaci di immagazzinare dati in contesti eterogenei, all’acquisizione di infomazioni attraverso app per smartphone e all’applicazione di complesse procedure legate alla trasfomazione dei dati mediante algoritmi e software generativi

The work of Antonio Barbieri (Rho, 1985) is characterised by a fusion between technology and artistic techniques linked to tradition.Barbieri's poetics lies at the crossroads of figuration and abstraction, seeking solutions and new approaches to timeless formal problems. Moving between different fields, the artist enriches his research using an ever-changing approach to form. Thanks to the use of self-built sensors capable of storing data in heterogeneous contexts, the acquisition of infomations through the complex procedures related to data transfomation and generative softwares.
