Going Places presenta il volto come una soglia tra memoria e immaginazione. Ogni ritratto incorpora una cartolina vintage realmente spedita—immagine di un luogo vissuto e ricordato—collocata nello sguardo del soggetto. Nel passaggio tra diverse identità, la figura diventa fluida e provvisoria. Richiamando forme di scambio visivo più lente e intenzionali, la serie riflette sull’eccesso contemporaneo di immagini e sul suo impatto sulla memoria. Le opere invitano a interrogarsi su come i ricordi si formano, si conservano e vengano sempre più delegati ai dispositivi digitali.

Going Places presents the face as a threshold between memory and imagination. Each portrait incorporates a sent vintage postcard—an image of a place once visited and remembered—embedded within the subject’s gaze. As the figure shifts between personas, identity becomes fluid and provisional. Referencing slower, more intentional forms of image exchange, the series reflects on contemporary visual excess and its effect on memory. These works invite the viewer to consider how memories are formed, stored, and increasingly delegated to digital devices.

Alexandra Adami, nata a Vienna e cresciuta tra Rio de Janeiro, Parigi, Zurigo e New York, dove si è laureata in Advertising & Communications, ha lavorato per oltre 15 anni nell’industria televisiva, pubblicitaria e fotografica tra New York, Londra e Milano. Oggi si dedica a una ricerca fotografica personale, con un forte interesse per la fotografia d’interni e il ritratto creativo. I suoi lavori esplorano ambienti distopici e abbandonati, fondendo bellezza ed elementi non convenzionali. Colore, eclettismo e mistero definiscono il suo linguaggio visivo. Ha vinto due volte i premi Portrait of Britain e Portrait of Humanity.

Alexandra Adami, born in Vienna and raised between Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Zurich and NY, where she earned a BSc in Advertising & Communications, spent over 15 years working in TV, advertising and photography across New York, London and Milan. She now focuses on personal photographic projects, with a passion for interiors and creative portraiture. Her work explores the tension between beauty and unconventional elements, blending elegance with unexpected details. Eclecticism, color and mystery define her visual language. She is a two-time winner of Portrait of Britain and Portrait of Humanity.
